And they misspell his name. Nice. :-)

Fairly standard “open source isn’t just for hippies” article otherwise.

PS.: to the non-brits, it won’t be obvious what “the Beeb” is, at least until they see the link. I made the connection when I saw the pointer to the BBC because I’ve seen this expression elsewhere before. (In davorg’s weblog, maybe?)

    Makeshifts last the longest.

“Damien.” Not a huge mistake, all things considered, but typos in names always leave a faint taste of rudeness and thoughtlessness…

You can also watch the programme as a Real stream. Not only do you get the interview with Damian and an interview with Tim O'Reilly, but there are also a couple of shots of Allison Randal, Autrijus Tang and Nat Torkington looking at a laptop.

If anyone is modem connected and hates the "buffering" pauses, or refuses to use the RealMedia spyware and hasn't worked out how to get Real Alternative to operate properly with the these streaming servers, (all of which apply to me), here's a link to the data file.

Be warned, it 37MB, and the dratted server doesn't support resume.
