    My copy carries the (ISBN?) no: 0-13-110163-3 and a copyright 1978 by Bell Labs. Maybe I'll look at the new one when it matures a bit :)

    Yes, exactly. I have a number of books that I keep for the same reason. Why buy a new one, when the old one is still useful, and I know where all the best parts are?
