If you're asking if an unapproved node ever gets deleted, I'm pretty sure the answer is no. As Corion kindly pointed out, it seems the worst fate of any long-standing "unapproved" node is that it is 'invisible to the anonymous || self-designatedly-impressionable public'.

It might help if you explained:
a) what you mean by "cancelled" &&
b) what your reason for asking is.
