Good point about the drift. Of course, that doesn't explain how you get fossilized fish on top of mountains Drifting continents have a lot of momentum. They don't stop on a dime, and when they collide the sea floor increases in elevation as the contents buckle (i.e. The sea floor is pushed up, forming mountains).
