I think I ran into this a long time ago on AIX 32-bit compiled programs. Check out this page: Large Program Support Basically give this a shot, make a copy of your 32 bit perl, and do: /usr/ccs/bin/ldedit -bmaxdata:0x80000000/dsa perl
