Down votes are one of the great mysteries of PM. Numerous discussions have attempted explaining why nodes are being downvoted, from simple misunderstanding to butterfly-ballot problem through pure jealousy and random acts of hatred, and whether a donwvote should come with explanations, at least a message in the CB, or not. In truth downvotes are often semi-random and they are a fact of life on PM, as nicely said in this node. On the subject you can also read:
