I guess it would seem a little rude if you don't know the history.
Win has been posting questions here for a little over three years. In that time he (or she) has had a lot of good quality help and advice from some very well-respected and extremely patient monks. But in that time his questions haven't changed their character at all. He still posts the same confused questions that he always has and I genuinely believe that he doesn't have the aptitude to be a programmer.
Please read through some of the discussions following Win's posts and tell me if you don't reach a similar conclusion.
Maybe it's still rude even if you do know the history. Sorry about that.

"i know i haven't been here long, but that has to be the rudest thing i've read here yet."
First of all, its a question, not the rudest question I have ever read, but you are not reading it in the proper context. Win posted code that someone here gave him, said it was broken, asked someone else to fix it, without making any effort to debug the code himself. Many people urged him to debug the code and to test the paths that he was dealing with. The problem turned out to have nothing to do with the code (he claimed one sub routine worked, the other did not), but rather the parameters he gave the script, which he was reading wrong from Windows explorer. With minimal effort this Win could have solved this problem by himself, by doing what he is paid to do. Win does this sort of thing all the time, as davorg has informed you. Take a look at Wins previous posts, there are stacks of examples of this behaviour. If you (the general you, not you) have no interest in learning something, or making any effort to do the tasks you are paid to do, perhaps you are in the wrong job. | [reply] |
