How much experience in Perl do you need? 15 year guru? 5 year senior programmer? junior hacker? Even for senior programmer, I think some of the other posters have given great wisdom: aim to hire good developers first and then train them for what you need. If you are just looking for software developers in general, but then they don't want to learn Perl, I'd say they don't deserve to be developers :) California sounds... would you pay for relocation from Northern Ireland? :) How can you feel when you're made of steel?
