My experience with Perl is 4 months but now I am in a job where most of the coding is done in Perl. So, I am gaining considerable knowledge and experience. In fact now Perl will become my strongest language, before it would have been Java. I used to program Perl in windows using ActiveState Perl, eclipse and EPIC plugins. I particularly liked the PadWalker module which enabled me to debug easily and visually. But now in the job we are using Unix systems, hence though I can literally code from eclipse, I can run it only from the command line(we use several proprietary modules).
