I've been using Perl since 1994 -- my first task as a paid sysadmin was fixing a self-service student Unix account generation system at Kansas State University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

For the past eleven years I've been doing predominately Data Warehousing work, where Perl has been a great asset. Most recently, I've been forced to use Microsoft-centric tools, so alas, I am not writing the actual ETL in Perl like I used to.

In past roles have worked for three different semiconductor companies in roles of great responsibility, the Federal Reserve Bank, as well as brief stints at a mortgage bank and a marketing firm. Right now, I am back in banking.
