I just started reading a book on C++, and the entire first chapter is about what you seem to be having problems with. The basic overview is to use meaningful variable names, make your code into functions, and heavily comment your code. No one wants unreadable code, especially when they wrote it themselves. "Mr. Zoothornrollo, hit that long lunar note, and let it float."
