My wife has only been able to subject me to dancing twice. Once at our wedding, and in a brilliant sneak attack at my brother's wedding.
Given the relative height difference, I'm 6'4 and she's 5'2, it's very difficult to even try due to logistics, so I manage to do a good amount of seat warming, which is fine with me. ;)
Revolution. Today, 3 O'Clock. Meet behind the monkey bars.
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

... I'm always in the band.
I learned a long time ago that I prefer being on the band side of the floor, reading down Big Band/Jazz standards (any of 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th trumpet books.)
Gals dig the guys in the band, in fact, that's how I met my wife!
Where do you want *them* to go today?

Ditto. Even bassplayers get their small share! And dancing, that's for people who weren't lucky enough to be on stage that night.

Amen, Brother, that's where I'm at too. Except I'm on guitar.

Unfortunately, not a lot of tuba gigs (although, they run rampant on the Big Joe Polka Show).
I've always wanted to play for a dance, sigh.

On my first date with my wife, we were to go dancing. So, naturally, she had to come over to my house to teach me a little bit, so I wouldn't embarrass us both. ;)
Well... um... we missed the ride to the club. We didn't mind. :D Must have been too busy dancing or something... | [reply] |

I'm told that I don't dance so much as hop, jump, and flail. I can't tell if that's an improvement over refusing to dance or not.

My best experince dancing was when my car broke in Italy. A toe truck took us to dance to sole music near some fallen arches, the cops tried to shoe us away and the DJ had to boot his music machine. Sock it to me! | [reply] |

I am too fleet of foot.
Update: ... a bit of family history here ... my maternal grandmother's first name was Fleta ... and I've long considered it rather unfortunate that her surname was not Foote (or Foot).

... Others enjoy watching my feet
I enjoy myself, weather it looks good or not. I cannot dance the classical (ballroom and such) way at all, as I cannot hear the beat. I only hear rythm. I enjoy my feet, maybe others laugh about them, but at least they enjoy them then too
Enjoy, Have FUN! H.Merijn

My problem with dancing was this idea that I would look stupid if I tried, but somewhere along the way I had this revelation that the guy who's NOT moving with the music, at least in some small way, is the one out of place. Pretty much everyone at a club or a concert is just wiggling whatever way they please anyhow, so you may as well relax and go with it.
If you're talking about something slightly more formal, a waltz or a tango, what can I say but that practice makes perfect, and the first step toward learning is admitting that you don't know. | [reply] |

I prefer Irish Ceili but can't quite convince my SO how much fun it is. I wouldn't mind doing Scottish Highland dancing, but haven't really found any instructors around here (not to say there aren't tho) :-) | [reply] |

Doesn't Highland dancing, at least sometimes, involve swords? Or, more dangerous, bagpipes?

I prefer using hockey sticks :-) As for bagpipes, what's wrong with them? (I've convinced a friend of mine who's learning bagpipes to learn to play "Radar Love" by Golden Earring on the bagpipes).

There's a reason I was the DJ: I got to go to the party, meet girls, and have people bring me drinks, but I didn't have to dance a single step. That's a good thing. I dance like a Special Ed kid who's been given a sparkler.
