I started as a Ph.D. chemist, turned into a UNIX administrator and Perl programmer, and now help chemical research labs manage their electronic raw data in the highly regulated pharmaceutical environment. I am currently working for Merial Limited (makers of animal health products such as Frontline and Heartgard).

I've used Perl since 1996. I've even taught several in-house Perl classes on the job at BASF in Princeton, New Jersey.
