Yes — in the sense that you won't get it to work with gcc without an unreasonable amount of effort. However, that fact that you've got the wrong one doesn't imply that there would also be another 'right' one to download... It just doesn't seem to be available — at least I couldn't find a 5.8.8/Solaris version built with gcc on ActiveState.com's download page. Anyhow, in case it's only that one module (Crypt::Blowfish) that you're desperately in need of, I would offer to just build it for you (and send you a tarball which you can unpack into your existing ActivePerl installation). /msg me privately, if interested.
