The breakthrough for me was 'A Stroll Through Perl' in Learning Perl. In this merlyn convinced me that Perl is worth remembering. When I thanked him for the chapter (at one of his legendary parties) he credited his editor with the idea for the stroll.
TheDamian convinced me that my brain has been temporarily stored in a Mayonnaise jar on the front porch, and it can be retrieved with a snippet of perl. I hope I can run it before I wake up! Beyond thinking out of the box, dominus taught me that there is no box. We are better off without boxes. Many monks have been very very good to me. Thanks!
