Learned Perl to support our spacecraft integration, testing, and on-orbit operations...Perl is our language of choice given its incredible flexibility and power. Learned the basics about 3 years ago; have been exploring it ever since. Like life, Perl never stops to amaze...nor do you ever really run out of amazing things to learn.
Have programmed extensivey in Fortran, Cobol, Ada, Basic and several assembly languages. Have dabbled in Java and C++. Perl is the only language that deeply intrigues me and keeps me wanting to learn more.
