Perl-support rocks the house. I use that with a couple of other plugins such as autocomplete (to keep the rsi away). I gave a talk to SF.pm where I demonstrated a simple vim IDE I put together using perl-support as the core: https://www.redhotpenguin.com/svn/vim/
