It usually is the PID, yes. However, it's been assigned another value, so it's just a random global variable now.

Indeed. I was told once not to play with those (maybe good advice in a non-obfuscational setting). I can see that in a strict setting they are part of main and therefore do not need a declaration. Crafty. THX Dex	[reply]
