I suggest opening the file in some XML-aware editor like jEdit for further investigation.

      I would think just "View Source" would be easier then trying to find some tool.

        Depends on the size and complexity and formatting of the XML. It's not always apparent what tag is not closed properly if all you know is the place where it is supposed to be closed. It can be quite far away.

        From the question posed in the OP, I suspect the poster is writing a script to remove CC 'view private' files, AFAIR, 'View Source' doesn't do that ...
