Summary Practical Text Mining with Perl is a book for beginners in Perl, beginners in GNU-R and beginners in Text-Mining. Some details From the foreword of the book (page xvii): "This book introduces the basic ideas of text mining, which is a group of techniques that extracts useful information from one or more texts. This is a practical book, one that focuses on applications and examples. Although some statistics and mathematics is required, it is kept to a minimum, and what is used is explained." Throughout the book Perl is chained to GNU-R: Perl is used to extract data. R does the math (even if it could be done easily in Perl) and plots the graphics. There are a lot of code examples throughout the book. Everthing is explained in layman's terms. use strict; and use warnings; are never used. The book covers the following CPAN-Modules:
