Business::OnlinePayment::AuthorizeNet install problem

sundialsvc4 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

When I used CPAN to attempt to install Business::OnlinePayment::AuthorizeNet, it referred to several prerequisites, specifically Business::OnlinePayment::HTTPS.

Apparently, that module is not available on CPAN. (So, my installation attempt crapped-out rather miserably.)

So... does anyone know “what gives?”

I see references to other folks having installed the AuthorizeNet package and even of giving glowing praises of it. So...?

    I googled for it and the first hit is the module

    Possibly you don't have the SSL libs installed to let you access https websites, and the module is dying with an uninformative message. You need Net::SSLeay _or_ ( Crypt::SSLeay and LWP::UserAgent ).

      Note that 3.00_09 is a developer release, and CPAN won't install it by default. The AuthorizeNet submodule has relied on developer releases of Business::OnlinePayment for a long time now. I simply resort to installing 3.15 of AuthorizeNet, which still serves us well.

        Could you please elaborate on that?   Thanks.
