With mapfraw() function, from PDL::IO::FastRaw module, you can memory map raw files from disk to memory. Don't forget to set $PDL::BIGPDL variable to 1 to work with pdl larger of 1Gb. Remember: the pdl mailing list is your friend (seriously).
