cosmicperl, what a great node! I appreciate your enthusiasm in this matter. Though I agree somewhat with points about taking attention away from PerlMonks, I do wonder how much of a dent it would actually make. Like CountZero said, it's a free world. So go forth and give it a shot!, only if you can see it to the end. Being relatively new at PM, I do feel that there is a certain tough love that goes on around here. It takes a little getting used to, but it's definitely a put-off for very new beginners and not conducive at all to bringing in new blood. This, I believe, is part of what you're trying to address and I'm all for it. It's comforting that there are senior monks, like tye, who still understand that the human-aspect of Perl is more important than the pedagogical-aspect, at the beginner level.
