flipper has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
Hello Monks, I'm using fork() exec() and socketpair() to start a child and capture its output, something like
The problem I have is I have to exec and capture the output of a script which writes to FD3, something like perl -e 'open STDOUT, ">&3";print "hello, world\n"' so I'd like to open fd3 to one half of a socketpair - is this possible? The loose equivalent of bash exec 3>/tmp/z I guess I'd have to be careful not to clobber any of my socketpairs... Thanks!
