The history of PerlMonks is a sequence of Nodes. The oldest users seem to be vroom and chromatic. vroom's node ID is 979; reading from there to here is the history so far. Of course there is more to be discovered via some sort of social engineering... ;-)

    Perhaps there is an opportunity here for some enterprising Monk to volunteer and make contact with the early node creators, Gods and those that have been here from the very beginning and document the PerlMonkGospels before it is too late and they are lost.
