How to trace discussions

Your highness, :)
I propose to add feature "trace this discussion". I.e. if I'll like to follow Daft text adventure project of fellow monk Tiefling, I would like to click on some button in Daft text adventure project discussion header and it will add node_id=83892 to my personal "Favorites", or "Briefcase", or more appropriate for monks: "Satchel".
"Satchel" will be monk's custom interface to all Perl Monastery, list of nodes s/he wants to follow. Then monk should be able to edit description/delete some nodes as needed. It looks to me all tools to do it exist.
I know I can do it via standard "Favorites", but I access Monastery from both work and home, and it'll be nice to have links at monastery.
Thank you!

Check out your Personal Nodelet, which stores any node you want as part of your PM user data. You may need to enable it in your User Settings. Currently, there's no way of indicating when a new message is posted to a thread, but that seems to be a highly requested feature for PM.

When clicking on link Personal nodelet you provided, I got error message:

You don't have access to that node. Tough beans.
Probably my rank is not high enough...yet.

Personal nodelet is hidden deep in user setting and I did not understand usage of it right away. It was not obvious to me what it is - and think "satchel" is *much* more appropriate place personal belongings of devout perl monk, than some "nodelet", right?

You are creating nice place - and quite addictive, too. :)

      Thank you!

Ok, my bad, Personal Nodelet is not a special node, it's a nodelet that appears on the right side of the screen.

To activate it, you need to go to user settings, and under Frontpage Nodelet, check the box next to Personal Nodelet if not already checked. Also check "Use Frontpage Nodelet's Everywhere" at the bottom of that section.

Submit and reload; you should see all the nodelets on the right hand side of the browser. Go to any node that you wish to keep track of, and you'll see that at the bottom of the box for "Personal Nodelet" is a simple "add (node title)" line. Click this, and that node is dropped into the personal nodelet. Then, anywhere you are in PM, you have access to whatever nodes are stored there. (I usually keep thinks like Super Search and Message Inbox in there as well for quick reference). If you want to remove a node, head back to user settings, and at the bottom of the page is a list of nodes in the personal nodelet, which you can click on the checkboxes to remove.

Or optionally, you can always create the links on your home node.

I've heard of places that store favorites/bookmarks on a web site, to provide for multi-home browsing and to keep sensitive material off your machine. I suppose they have browser plugins to make it transparant to add a bookmark to the list. You might look for that, not just for PM but in general.
This looks like cool idea. Do you know a link to any such a site, by chance?

Just another idea. Maybe it is possible to do it by existing tools, but I just did not figured yet how to.

    Update Just found it... :-(

It is "/msg me when reply..."

I believe it makes sense to be a default, right?
