Rock. Yeah, that's exactly the issue. As I mentioned in my reply to salva above, it also seems to be possible to get around the problem by setting Perl's $SIG{INT} = 'IGNORE' before forking whichever processes will do your tee'ing, and setting your custom handler afterward.
