Check out Win32::Perms (one of the Roth Consulting modules), which lets you get and set ownership, among many other things.	[reply]

It doesn't seem to like to install from the internet: C:\Perl\bin>perl ppm.pl install http://www.roth.net/perl/packages/win32-perms.ppd Installing package 'http://www.roth.net/perl/packages/win32-perms.ppd'... Error installing package 'http://www.roth.net/perl/packages/win32-perms.ppd': Could not locate a PPD file for package http://www.roth.net/perl/packages/win32-perms.ppd I'll try the manual install... you could also use stat() or File::stat Update: erf.. my bad..tye is right.	[reply]

No, under Win32, stat always returns 0 for both UID and GID (update: as does File::stat). - tye (but my friends call me "Tye")	[reply]
