You have a view: standard methods for your object flavor
You have a control: what you do with said well-behaved objects You have a model: how stuff is retrieved and/or stored -- in this case XML or JSON or whatever, summon the demon from the depths and make it dance. DANCE I say. Yes, it's true that purists will object to my interpretation, but they drank the cool-aid. I drank the cup.
