in thread www.perlmonks.org vs. perlmonks.org

For SEO purposes I think it would be better to have a single live site and the rest should redirect to the same address.

As it is now, some people will link to http://www.perlmonks.org/ others to http://perlmonks.org/ and the other addresses. That will divide the inbound links and reduce the page rank of each page. That's true for all the nodes.

As it is now, some people will link to http://www.perlmonks.org/ others to http://perlmonks.org/ and the other addresses.

And they will promptly be told to use [id://] or [href://] for linking

Some people have discovered that there are webpages outside of Perlmonks, and (gasp!), those pages actually allow links to Perlmonks. Guess what, [id://] and [href://] don't work there!
