Ok - different version of the idea: how about the Parlour as a page indexing (a) the most heavily trafficked threads and (b) recently re-opened threads?

As for node-naming, you're quite right.

    As for heavily trafficked nodes, see Most visited nodes, but a restriction on the days past and sections could be handy....

    Re-opened threads: Write a client yourself! Make a client that checks the newest notes for replies in threads that are older than x days, and reports that on the user. Hand it over to jcwren, so that it is kept centrally. (otherwise too heavy load on pm server) Something like that.
