You don't mean ^H, do you? That can't be it, or I'd be earning 'Bonus old fart points'. Update: I have been informed that as I suspected, my initial thought was too simple. BTW, while on this topic... Using Term::ANSI can be much more convenient than using print and \c all the time. Chris
