Mark the date, 9/4/03. Though only a lowly acolyte, I get some actual code into production at a major financial institution. Nevermind what it was (a change in a regex, starting with "&&(!~/stuff|stuff|stuff/)", it lets me add "gets paid to use Perl" to my geek code and my resume! All this and only 51 years old! 10/24/03, a new beginning. I just installed OS X 10.3 (Panther) with native Perl 5.8.1. Still haven't laid out all the modules that come with, or powered up Cpan, but it is still pretty exciting to be starting over with a whole new environment.
