Dum de dum, I know of someone who is porting perl to the palm. Actually to uClinux which runs on the palm. Search for perl on c3po.kc-inc.net/mail/uclinux for the post. | [reply] |

AFAIK there is no Perl for Palm.

I had seen that write up. I did do a search before asking :-)
I, however, never take the first "no" for an answer (My mom always hated that!) So I'm looking for a second opinion.
Thanks,

Best of luck in your quest. Can you recommend any Palm Perl resources doc, faqs etc?

Tidbit I saw from a recent perl5-porters post:

Speaking of Porting Perl to a Palm, does anyone know if current palm software is gonna run on the next generation of palms with the new processor? http://news.cnet.com/news/0-1006-202-1752075.html
I know thats off topic, but I don't think its too far astray. | [reply] |

All right, I admit it, I'm a geek!
Asking that question doesn't make you a geek, actually
getting down and porting a version would. Do you even
know what the Palm API looks like - it may not be
a) particularly worthwhile
or
b) it may not even be difficult

I've played with Palm programming and it will be a
difficult task. Take a look at the size of the perl executable
for the main reason why. Palm programs must be tiny, tiny, tiny!
I'd settle for a small SSH client and a reliable net connection
myself...

Actually getting down a porting something seems to still be Black Magic to me. I know that kind of thing can be done, but (for now) it's the kind of thing men who wear cloaks and funny hats while burning chemicals with names I can't pronounce do.
For right now, I'll stick to using PERL and leave the magic to the wizards!
Your humble servant,
-Chuck
