gpk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I have created a Html Page & i want to login in unix server using perl & in HTML desiging I want to browse unix directories & transfer files by using file browser... How can I login in unix server using perl & How to browse files in using html file browser tool .I am running HTML page in windows & remotely connect to unix .......... Please help!!!!!

    What you want to do is install cPanel or similar

    Google for .htaccess tutorial

    To browse files, put Options +Indexes in a .htaccess file in every directory you want browsable.

    For apache logins to directories, in your directory's .htaccess file, put what the tutorials show you to do. Usually something like this

    AuthName "Section Name" AuthType Basic AuthUserFile /full/path/to/.htpasswd Require valid-user
