You might like to check if BrainBench do a certification for Perl. They usually do certification for a lot of other technologies and are seen as a high standard testing benchmark by many critical software companies.

      Marto, Good to read this feedback on BrainBench test, from the link that you posted. I agree to all that's been written there. Mainly because the test is not acknowledged by The Perl Foundation.

      However, rather strange situation is where companies who develop business critical software acknoledge this test simply because there's no other formalised test out there.

      I would personally not bother going for a certification. If you can prove in an interview that you've got skills, that's good enough.
