If anyone is interested, Brainbench has a fairly good typing test. It only takes about 15 minutes or so to take, and it gives you raw speed and speed corrected for errors.

Interesting. 121 WPM with 74% Accuracy. I know 121 WPM is quite high, but is 74% accurate in relation to others?

And is this test anything like 'normal' tests you would see at training institutes? I learned to type by doing it often, using a variable amount of fingers, usually 7 or 9.

Which leads me to another question : HOW does everyone type? How many fingers, are there people who can type one-handed with decent speed?

Not too shabby: 187 WPM with 91% accuracy. I remember in College, my high was around 200WPM with >90% accuracy.

But as a comment, I dated someone back in the '90s who typed well over 250WPM. She was a medical transcriptionist ... and boy did she rake in the $$$'s.
