Well, I guess the point I was trying to make is that... Larry Walls' Perl page is down! Since April 2010! .oO(m/WT./) See, I've been using Perl on a pretty big system at a time when the language was evolutionary ahead of Java, by a long shot. And I (had to) leave it behind professionally, around the time when Perl 6 actually was *really* a hot topic, the time of the Apocalypses and Exegeses. We wondered if it would be ready for procuction use in.. uh.. 2004-ish(?) back then. Actually, I was sure it would be, and that it'd blow anything else out of the water. But I am digressing. Now back in the day, if Larry Walls Perl page was down, it would not've taken a guy coming back from a 10 year pilgrimage into the lands of Java to point it out, to Larry, the Perl community, or both. Especially not if it's 404ing since 2+ years. I just wonder(ed) what happened to Larry Wall, Damian Conway, Randal L. Schwartz, Brian D'Foy and others that were, well, significant people back then. Maybe I am phantasizing, but If nobody clicks on Larry Walls Perl link on his personal homepage anymore, I just wondered what's going on, with him, the community, the language. Simply because I am out of touch with Perl. I don't know, once links go dead on something it's an indication of... demise, if you know what I mean. At least so it appears. And yes, I know I probably just didn't do my homework/catching up. As long as CPAN is up, you know? But honestly, if you have no concept as to what I mean, or why I posted this, then, well, I guess ... you just don't. Which is fine. But I can't really explain it to you then, I fear. Times change. Though, that said, I wonder why you even cared to reply, to be honest. But honestly, no offense meant on anybody. Those who felt this should be front-paged probably understand exactly why I posted this. For better or worse. So long,
