<p>Not that I'd want to maintain it in that form; but can you imagine converting all the Perl sources into C++, loading it up into a new respository and annotating it and then using that to construct a properly object-oriented Perl5 source tree?
<p>Proper inheritance of the SVt_types; a full cleanup of all the cruft that has built up over the years; starting anew -- from a clean, compilable and working, if weirdly structured and named -- codebase and going forward from there?
