LanX's solution may be enough, but FYI there is also an Inline::Basic module (the Inline modules allow you to write code in another language in your perl program, run them using their own interpreter or compiler, and access the functions directly in the perl code)

<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
