I've got no answer to the actual question, an IDE for Linux.
I'm using WinXP with ActiveState Perl 5.8.0 build 806. And I had to choose between several editors. I didn't like vi or emacs or the several incarnations thereof. I've used Perl Scripting Tool, AnyEdit, DZsoft, Perl Oasis and UltraEdit. None of them felt right. Now I am using Crimson Editor, which is freeware, and has several nifty treats. I like it, it looks good, it is fast, helpful, and I don't have to do silly things like save, ftp, open another window to execute the script, etc. Just one-click-while-editing... (create your own macros). By the way, Crimson has syntax files for a lot of programming languages and other types of apps where scripts are used, e.g. MySQL and Apache. In reply to Crimson Editor
