Thirty spokes around the hub:
In their nothingness consists the carriage's effectiveness.
One hollows the clay and shapes it into pots:
In its nothingness consists the pot's effectiveness.
One cuts out doors and windows to make the chamber.
In their nothingness consists the chamber's effectiveness.
Therefore what exists serves for possession.
What does not exist serves for effectiveness.

Corollary and Midrash:

There is no end to the making of many books,
and much study is wearisome to the body.
((Thirty spokes around the hub))
Having heard everything, I have reached this conclusion:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the whole duty of man.
((Only the immaterial makes things effective))

For God will evaluate every deed,
including every secret thing, whether good or evil.

But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well.

‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment.
The second is like it:
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
All the law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.

- Yeshua
