in thread Safe::World 0.08 released - use_shared() make the cache system for Perl Modules more intuitive

Quoting a post from Anonymous Monk in reply to one of your previous Safe::World announcements ...

Please don't post an announcement for each module version release that you perform. This is what the recent feed from CPAN and corresponding CPAN nodelet on this site is for. If you are going to announce the *very first* upload of a module to CPAN, fine, but please don't do it for the subsequent version uploads - It simply becomes annoying.

Please don't announce each point release of your modules - It is quite annoying. Those of us who wish to follow new releases for modules in which we have an interest (myself included), already have the CPAN nodelet (and corresponding CPAN RDF feed) which provides this functionality for them.

With all the respect, this isn't an "each point release". I have made 5 releases from the last announce.

The point now is that I'm showing the new cache system for Perl modules, what can be very interesting.

Just to continue what was in my mind.

I respect what you said. But what can I do, do not talk about Safe::World anymore in the monastery? Soo, Where I will talk about this? Was very hard to make it, and I really need to share my effort, just to see if there is a better way or to know if it really works.

Maybe for majority Safe::World isn't important, but for me it is. With it I was capable to increase in 6 times the speed of complex scripts, without change anything in their codes! For me this is 6 machines! This is US$30000 that I don't need to spend!

For me this are hours of work that doesn't need to be done in old codes to have them working fine and faster, specially in mod_perl.

Soo, I still prefer to be annoying, sorry, but I need.

I don't think anybody is implying this. But everbody feels that their own module is the best in the world, not unlike the way parents feel about their newborn baby. Even if it is the ugliest baby you'd ever seen. What you're doing is the equivalent of forcing everbody to look at baby pictures. Again and again.

... I really need to share my effort, just to see if there is a better way or to know if it really works.

Well, if you have specific questions about improving your module, it would be better to place them as an SOPW question in the Monastery. By putting it as a news item again and again, a lot of monks will just be annoyed and disregard your efforts, however good and/or revolutionary they are. Which is a pity, whether or not your module is really any good or not.

... I still prefer to be annoying, sorry, but I need.

Please, find another way to let the world know about your module. Write an article about how you used you module, and how it made your life better. Put it here. Put it on other Perl related sites. Soon you'll get more feedback about your module than you really want. ;-)

Just use your home node to keep us posted. Or better yet, come up with a Safe::World website (like i did for DBIx::XHTML_Table) and keep a fresh link (BIG if you want) on your home node. Understand that i for one have an adversion to this module simply because you have over-advertised it here at the Monastery. A shame too, because it does look quite promising.

How about a mailing list or something? It's going to be quiet at least at first, but judging by the replies you got from posting this in the news here, doing so can't have been very helpful either.
