I've submitted some patches to bring the Snippets Section in line with the other Sections, so instead of seeing just a list of titles, you'd be able to read the descriptions too. You'll also get the posting hints under the 'Add your snippet' from.

They'd need to be applied in this order

  1. parse_snippet_desc - (patch)
  2. listapproved settings - (patch)
  3. Snippets Section - (patch)

Also, I wonder if we should state more clearly the type of content that belongs in Snippets. Opinion differs among monks, but to me a snippet is usually something brief - e.g. a code fragment or a short script (but not Plot a 8/16bit wav file with Win32::GUI or Find images regardless of filetype extension.).

Any feedback much appreciated.

Perhaps, to inforce what to post there it could be contrasted with 'Cool Uses For Perl' examples, for instance. The closer together that they could be placed, the stronger the contrast that they should show.
    • Or perhaps, by using a different way of submiting them.
    • Or of showing them classified...

These are applied. I took the liberty of using 'parse_snippet_desc' as the name however.
