People don't get paid for getting lots of votes, you know :-)

The real beneficiary of an upvote isn't the person who posted the content, it's people *reading* the content, especially people who are less knowledgeable and need pointers to the best content in a thread. Please, upvote good content from Anonymonks.

    That would work if votes were always visible but they are not.

    In order to see some node reputation you have to vote on it first, and in that way they are mostly useless for newbies as a way to discern good and bad answers.

      AFAIK, sort nodes by reputation is still available on perlmonks, so even if you can't see the reputation, you can see the ++ed replies first
