unfortunate scrolling and clicking problem

As for site design, i have one particular altercation:
i don't like working through nodes 10 or 15 nodes at a time. This is a disheartening problem personally, seeing that if i post a perl question i have to scroll through (right now when i right this) 2000+ entries to get to my one! This is absurd.

If i were looking for other people's posts just to refresh my memory or helping others that's fine to go through post by post, but it doesn't help lusers and newbies.

There are 2 possible solutions to this problem, and, sadly, i prefer both.
1) Put the last 5 newest nodes by joeUser on joeUser's home node.
2) Put in a way to go to USER SPECIFIED numbers of posts (singular or multiple, with a `-' in between; ie 3 or 5-12).

i have seen sites that do this, it's a problem to fix with already written code i'm guessing, but it shouldn't be horribly difficult.

Another thing:
This is a completely user-oriented suggestion, but why do i have to look at 2000+ posts? Are those today only? If so then i have nothing more to say. If not, could there be some kind of limit to how many posts are considered recent so that one need not sit through clicking `Next entries-->' more times than i found a use for perl?
By all means have an option to go back through older posts (up to some other sane limit like a week or a day; i don't know yet and haven't investigated the volume of posts made here). It is quite useful to go through posts, i understand this. But when reading posts, there must be some criterion (i'm using time, others can be used as well) to reduce the sheer volume of posts that need be gone through for many of this sites locations.

You can access the last nodes by jynx over jynx home node by clicking on the number of writeups.
Alternatively you can use Perl Monks User Search to find a special users nodes.

Are you talking about the Newest Nodes page? Have you hit the "I've checked all of these" button at the bottom of the page? if so you are in "cookie hell". There should be a link at the top of the page for clearing that cookie and going back to "Today's Posts" mode.

That button bit a lot of us, but it's nice if you are a frequent loader I guess.

From your description it appears that you're trying to find your question in the seekers of perl wisdom section. It may not have made it that far, nodes have to be approved before they show up there. If you post something and want to see it right away, then you should try the newest nodes page.

All of your write ups are accesible on a page linked to from your home node. You will notice that the number of write ups is a link, this takes you to a page where all of your write ups are.
