I actually joined perlmonks a bit back and had already posted a question (Connecting to remote db with DBI) so my comment really wasn't an attempt to avoid any learning opportunity or chance to socialize at the Monastery. My problem was a very short timeline, a much needed vacation, and hand-me-down garbage code. Please see Re: Don't go all PerlMonks on me for more details. Although if I were not already on perlmonks, I probably would have baulked given the circumstances!!! :)	[reply]
