RE: New Modules 19-24 July 2000

I wonder who writes the descriptions for the above? They seem a bit random. Some are obvious and don't really need a description (i.e. Font-TTF) while others (i.e. Parse-YALALR) are practically begging for a description. Would other monks be interested in full descriptions for all the new modules? For the record, the example I gave says this in it's README file:

Yet Another LALR(1) parser generator. Really intended for use as a backend for Parse::Vipar, a visual parser debugger. Yes, I know the name sucks.

I strongly suspect that those descriptions are taken from the modules list. That would explain why many are missing and all are quite short (the modules list doesn't have much space for description).

MakeMaker knows how to grab module descriptions from the pod documentation (see the ABSTRACT_FROM option) which would probably find descriptions for a lot of modules that don't have one above. I don't know where this features would need to be used for descriptions to appear above.
