I am sorry to say I just started Perl a month ago and have very little experience and cannot build this yet. If I could believe me I would build it. But I am just putting an idea on this site. Nothing else. I am sorry if you take this as a selfish request to get an app because trust me it isn't.

Objective-C is a great language; in many ways it reminds me very strongly of Perl. In some ways it's simpler, in other ways harder (memory management in particular). It's also a great language to know at the moment. Just saying.

I'm sure you're being honest about this; it's just that we get the "you know Perl, you could write this for me (free)" thing a lot and are a bit shy of it now. We do contribute to things, but each thing we contribute to spreads us thinner. Will this really fly? WIll I end up putting a lot of time into it for nothing? Will I get the credit for the work I put in?

It's like the "title game" that musicians play sometimes late after a few beers and a long day: make up cool album and song titles. Everyone knows that it's easy to do this, but really hard to make 3, 5, 10 minutes - or an hour - of good music to match them. Anyone that says "we could do that album" would be expected to do some songwriting and playing - or is an A&R person, and will try to get all the credit without doing any of the real work...

Ya, I see how my question could annoy some people. I also agree with you on the matter of Objective-C. Although I am just learning Perl (my first computer programming lingo) I think Objective-C is my next language. Especially in this day and age where apps are HUGE.
