So then the source of the problem is that you are using a browser that doesn't support soft hyphen (which, amazingly, FireFox still doesn't support) and the work-around is to disable "auto" code wrapping (or switch browsers).

If you didn't "get" that from the linked note, then suggestions on how to make it clearer would be appreciated (I already see plenty of room for improving clarity there, but was hoping one of tbe wordsmiths would greatly improve it when making a sitefaqlet out of it).

FWIW, they’re not going to fix this in Gecko for the time being, because the relevant code is already a mess and long due for a complete overhaul. Currently, the entire rendering code is being reworked to use Cairo as the backend, which is supposed to allow taking advantage of hardware acceleration. It will also get rid of most of the 2D drawing code in Gecko, since that will be Cairo’s job. In the course of all that, the text layout code is due for a massive refactoring, and one of the byproducts of that will be soft hyphen support.

The bottom line is that it will take quite a while yet until Gecko has that support, but it will happen.

No, actually your node was clear. I'll experiment some more when I run into the problem again (I can't seem to find the page that was giving me problems). I think your sitefaqlet is just fine the way it is. Maybe just remove some of the stuff that relates to that particular thread.
